In an interesting example of schaudenfreude, the powers that be within the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project have decided to let some lucky commuter take his or her revenge on the nasty span of Beltway by pressing the button that will ignite the charges to send a section of the bridge to its death.
In my ten years or so driving in the Washington, DC area I’ve driven over the Wilson maybe ten times total. This was always a stretch of road to be avoided at all costs because of all the bottlenecks, back-ups and a very rough ride. Did I mention that the Wilson was also a working drawbridge? Fun, fun, fun.
